Report of HEERF III Grant Used as of December 31, 2021

Pacific Union College received $1,551,009 from the HEERF III Grant for the sole purpose of providing emergency financial aid grants directly to students.

As of December 31, 2021, $959,950.00 has been disbursed to 393 students, or 62% of the total grant funds available to disburse. This represents an average of $2,442.62 per student.

PUC CARES Act Grant-HEERF II

Report of HEERF II Funds Used

Pacific Union College signed and returned to the Department of Education the Recipient’s Funding Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on April 10, 2020. The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) is authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA), signed into law on December 27, 2020.

Pacific Union College received $569,112 on January 17, 2021 for the sole purpose of providing emergency financial aid grants directly to students.

As of May 15, 2021, $477,050 has been disbursed to 654 students, or 84% of the total grant funds available to disburse.

As of June 30, 2021, $569,101 has been disbursed to 750 students, or 99.9% of the total grant funds available to disburse.

As of September 30, 2021, $569,112 has been disbursed to 750 students, or 100% of the total grant funds available to disburse. There are no longer any funds available from this round of CRRSAA funding.

PUC CARES Act Grant

The CARES Act Grant at Pacific Union College provides temporary, short-term, emergency financial assistance to eligible students who are experiencing an unforeseen hardship that could adversely affect their educational success. The main criteria for a grant are the demonstration of a genuine need and that the capacity for continued study may be in jeopardy due to financial hardship. 

Final Report of HEERF I Funds Used

Pacific Union College signed and returned to the Department of Education the Recipient’s Funding Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on April 10, 2020.

Pacific Union College received $569,112 on April 28, 2020 for the sole purpose of providing emergency financial aid grants directly to students. PUC estimates 766 students are eligible to receive grants from this fund.

As of March 22, 2021, $569,112 has been disbursed to 449 students, or 100% of the total grant funds available to disburse. There are no longer any funds available from this round of Cares Act Funding. Therefore, application for these funds are no longer available.

Initial 45-day Report of Funds Used

Pacific Union College signed and returned to the Department of Education the Recipient's Funding Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on April 10, 2020.

Pacific Union College received $569,112 on April 28, 2020 for the sole purpose of providing emergency financial aid grants directly to students. PUC estimates 766 students are eligible to receive grants from this fund.

As of July 22, 2020, $376,901 has been disbursed to 431 students, or 66.23% of the total grant funds available to disburse.

PUC used the following methods to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive.

For all students:

  • Students must have completed a FAFSA
  • Students must be Title IV eligible (enrolled at least half-time, meeting SAP, etc.)
  • Students were issued a disbursement through check using their current address

For group 1, students were selected as a group based on EFC 10,000. No application was required.

For group 2, students applied for an Emergency Grant:

  • Priority was given to students with an EFC of $10,001 or more who did not fall in group 1 above.
  • Students indicated a significant financial detriment as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and
  • Students indicated the purpose of the Emergency Grant was to fund allowable expenses (food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, or child care expenses)

  • Students were issued a disbursement through check using their current address
