First-Year Freshman

FUSION Orientation

Fusion is PUC's First-Year Experience program for new freshmen that strives to bring you together with the diverse group of other first-year freshmen and support your transition as you begin your PUC journey.

It kicks off with Fusion Orientation, a four-day event where you will meet students, staff, and faculty, worship together, and participate in a variety of meetings, workshops, and activities designed to acquaint you with PUC's resources, policies, opportunities, traditions, and mission. You will also meet your Fusion group and Peer Leader — a returning PUC student and go-to resource who will provide guidance, mentorship, and support as you navigate your first year of college. Fusion Peer Leaders are excited to be there for you and share the ups and downs of their own experiences of figuring out how to succeed in college.

When fall classes begin, Fusion continues with GNST-101 Frontiers, a course all freshmen take during their first quarter at PUC. Frontiers aims to help you develop tools to successfully navigate life in college and beyond by engaging with PUC's Institutional Student Learning Outcomes, Core Competencies, and your Success Team.

Throughout your first year at PUC, you'll also have opportunities to participate in social and spiritual engagement activities exclusively for Fusion students — occasions to grow together and reminders that you're not on this journey alone. College can be exciting and challenging and the Fusion program exists to help you have the best first-year experience possible.

New Student Program Fee

A one-time fee of $210 will be assessed to all new freshman students' accounts during fall quarter. The fee helps to cover activities, materials, and administrative costs for both New Student Orientation and Week of Welcome.

Check Your PUC Email Account

Start getting into the habit of checking your PUC email at least once a week since this is the primary method of communication for PUC. Throughout the summer, you'll receive helpful information and reminders of pre-orientation tasks you'll need to complete before fall quarter begins. If you don't have an account yet, set it up in the Manage PUC Account section of our website.
