Duties
Reporting to the VP of Academic Administration, The Dean of the School of Arts, Humanities, and Professional Studies, and Chair of the English Department, duties include: teaching College English and Themes in Literature or an Honors seminar, and English major classes; advise students; alternately, sponsor a student club such as Sigma Tau Delta, as requested by the department chair; serve on campus governance committees, as appropriate; attend weekly campus Community events, bi-weekly departmental meetings, and monthly College Assemblies.
Desirable Qualifications
- Ph.D. preferred
- A high level of collegiality
- Excellence in teaching both literature and composition, general education students as well as English majors
- Preferred specialties in early modern, seventeenth- and eighteenth-century British literature, or American literature.
- Preference will be given to: Specialties in African American literature, Chicano Literature, Asian American Literature, and/or postcolonial studies
- Leadership opportunities available.
