Duties
The School of Sciences Administrative Assistant and Lab Coordinator supports and assists the behavioral science, basic science, and exercise science faculty and students. Duties involve providing administrative support for the School of Science department Chairs and Dean, management and supervision of School of Science student workers, administrative support and assistance for the Social Work program (e.g., internships, accreditation), and management and supervision of the basic science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) laboratories and stockrooms.
- Support and assist School of Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Kinesiology, Math/Physics, and Psychology/Social Work)
- Provide office and clerical support to Dean and Department Chairs
- Plan and coordinate School and Department functions
- In collaboration with the Enrollment Office, plan, organize and participate in recruitment activities
- Manage School of Sciences student workers
- Onboard/train students hired by faculty and supervise student workers where needed.
- Manage the timekeeping for student workers
- Support and assist the Social Work Program
- Coordinate Social Work Program Advisory meetings
- Update and disseminate student and field work handbooks
- Prepare for the Social Work consecration service
- Assist the Social Work Program Director with program reaccreditation
- Assist the Social Work Program Director with managing Social Work program applications and admissions.
- Assist the Social Work Field Coordinator with duties related to student internship contracts and communications, internship hours, field evaluations, liability insurance and student and agency field files
- Manage the basic sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) laboratory program
- Organize and manage the daily/weekly set up, take down, and clean-up of lab supplies and equipment
- Supervise lab sections and assist as needed
- Maintain and enforce lab safety and hazardous waste rules
- Manage the Biology and Chemistry Department stockrooms
- Order, update inventory, and restock lab supplies and equipment
- Coordinate the preparation of all chemical supplies and lab equipment as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desirable Qualifications
Education and Experience
B.S. or B.A. basic, applied, or behavioral science from a recognized college or university is required. At least one year of experience in office management or a combination of academic qualification and relevant experience.

- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Internet search engines, Adobe and other applications
- Knowledge of equipment used in basic science labs
- Able to supervise student workers and lab students
