Duties
An adjunct nursing instructor is a Registered Nurse with educational preparation and expertise in a specific area of nursing practice. In collaboration with the course lead instructor, the adjunct instructor assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical and/or theoretical learning experiences. These experiences are designed in such a way as to facilitate critical thinking and foster student attainment of course objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support of Student Learning Experiences:
- In collaboration with the lead instructor or director, assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate learning experiences designed to facilitate critical thinking and student attainment of course objectives.
- Participate in maintaining a collaborative learning environment in and out of the classroom, in the clinical setting, with departmental faculty members, and with clinical agencies.
Department Responsibilities:
- Participate in maintaining a collaborative working relationship with departmental faculty members.
- Participate in establishing and implementing departmental goals and objectives.
- Communicate with lead instructor to remain current with program initiatives.
- Serve as a college representative in the clinical agency area.
- Participation in Nursing Faculty committees is encouraged and optional
