PacificQuest

Fall 2024 PacificQuest

For the past two summers, I have had the opportunity to assist with teaching classes for the PacificQuest programs. Watching young, eager minds interact with new problems and understand collegiate concepts is a treat.

For example, this last year, students programmed Raspberry Pi computers, flew in planes, and explored nature and creative writing, all while spending lots of time doing fun summer activities with their peers! My experiences have convinced me that these programs provide a valuable service to the students, our community, and Pacific Union College. At the request of the current Academic Director, Aimee Wyrick, I have been working with her to transition into the Academic Director role starting next year. I am excited to see what the future holds!

One element we are working to add to PacificQuest is a scholarship fund. This scholarship will help offset costs for low-income students accepted into one of the PacificQuest programs. Once accepted, eligible students will apply for a PQ scholarship. We will communicate additional information and how to donate to this fund in the near future.

If you know of motivated students in grades 6-12 who would benefit from an academically exciting and challenging environment, please encourage them to apply! Details about the programs and the application process are at www.puc.edu/life-at-puc/high-school-programs/pacificquest.
