Life at PUC
Biology

PUC's Biology Department will be experiencing some changes while maintaining our consistent dedication to the excellent academic preparation of our students. While it is rare that we have to find a person to fill a position in the department (about a 20-year cycle), we have a longtime colleague retiring at the end of this year.
Dr. Robin Vance will end his long and storied career teaching various subjects on campus. Highly regarded for his department leadership and twice awarded teacher of the year, he will be laying down his overheads and picking up his tennis racket. Although, the last time I spied him on the tennis court, I could hardly believe my eyes when it appeared that he was playing pickleball. Thus, we have begun our search for another talented physiology professor.
The department bustles with day-to-day classes, labs, and planning mission trips, recently to India with Dr. Backil Sung. Providing experiential learning on research and labs in the field, with the next one going to Peru with Dr. Floyd Hayes. We are also in the planning stages of an alumni trip to Thailand. Keep in touch with your biology department and alumni office to be up-to-date.
You can find us on Instagram @puc.biology or PUC Biology Department on Facebook.
