Midori Yoshimura (‘12) graduated summa cum laude with majors in English and Spanish in the honors program. Now, she works in digital media at Stanford’s Office of University Communications, and has met the king and queen of Spain.

The Honors program here at PUC is really interesting as it provides an great alternative to the general curriculum, giving those of us who are a part of it a way to experience learning in a more think-and-discuss driven environment rather than your run-of-the-mill lecture for 50 minutes. I chose to join because I knew this different style of learning would better suit my approach to classes.

PUC Honors Students Travel to Italy to Study the Italian Renaissance

From exploring the treasures of Florence to the coastal villages of Cinque Terre to the canals of Venice, and roaming the historical streets of Rome, eight honors students from Pacific Union College spent four weeks in Italy as part of their course, Renaissance: Truth and Beauty. This course explored art and science from the Italian Renaissance with the places and works that shaped Western culture.
