The goal of the health services clinic is to professionally guide each student towards their own optimum level of health and wellness while attending PUC and beyond. It is our ultimate goal to assist the population we serve in obtaining the necessary tools to make mature and independent lifestyle choices.
The Health Services clinic is a HIPPA-compliant department providing a readily available "safe zone" where confidential assessment and treatment is provided with a Christ-centered approach to care.

Student Health Insurance

Care and Concern
If you are concerned for the health or safety of a friend or classmate, or witness concerning behavior and/or incidents, please fill out the Care & Concern form. The appropriate offices on campus will be notified to provide support and resources. All reports are private and covered under FERPA.
Services Provided
All students are required to carry their own primary insurance plan which must provide access to a provider network in the Napa area. Always carry your insurance card with you.
PUC’s Health Services office provides the following services to our student population as covered by the general fee:
- Scheduled office visits by our on-site doctor or physician assistant
- Drop in visits by our experienced nursing staff
- First aid
- In-house clinical lab testing
- Minor surgical procedures
- Off-site referrals for diagnostic testing, medical specialists, or emergency care
- Over-the-counter medications with limited prescription medications and vaccines
- Community services referrals
- Physical therapy
- Nutritional counseling
- Preventative health screening and education

Class Excuses
Class excuses are not provided by the Health Services office. Our medical staff can provide you with a form verifying only the date of your office visit. If your professor requests additional information please contact our office for the correct procedure to release your confidential medical information.
Communicable Disease Information
Colleges across the country are responding to the ever increasing threats of communicable diseases. Living conditions and poor health habits (lack of sleep, inadequate diet, and stress) make the student population particularly at risk.
Pacific Union College wants to be proactive in its approach to students. We are working closely with the Napa County Health Department with appropriate protocol responses to these issues.

Immunization Recommendations for All Students
In an on-going effort to keep our student population not only informed but healthy, the California State Public Health Department has made the following recommendations for students living in dormitory settings. Please be aware that these are not required to be a student here. Please refer to specific departments sites (ie: Nursing/EMT) who may have different requirements for some or all of these listed.
